She was worried, sitting lonely, her tension was visible in her wet eyes. When her maths teacher saw her sitting there, she approached her. “Dear, you are too early, you can revise something meanwhile, wait, what? you are crying, why!!!
This year you are going to pass. I am sure about it. I have seen so much improvement in you”teacher said. “You know, I saw a dream last night, I was sitting in the exam hall and was writing my maths exam. But I was not able to write anything. It was all blurred. I tried so hard but I was not able to complete my paper on time and teacher took my sheet. I am not afraid of failing again, but I am afraid of not getting a chance to learn new things. I want to go to new class, I want to learn new theories, new numbers, new languages. And I am scared I won’t be able to do it because I won’t be able to write on paper, all the knowledge, I already have” she said with drops in her eyes. Teacher replied “you are never going to stop learning and you know this better than me. You have tried really hard, frankly speaking, if I would be at your place, I won’t be able to sit with so much passion with kids younger than you. You are an inspiration and you are going to win it this time. No nightmare is going to kill your dream of learning.”
Exam was over and she was sitting on the school bench when her maths teacher joined her. “So, what you think??” teacher asked. “I did my best, really” she replied. “So why are you sad??” “Remember that day when I answered that multiple question, right?? (teacher nodded ) First I also missed the last 1 like the other girl, but I was able to recall it on time. I am not sure if I was able to recall that 1 today or not?” “Just be positive, all the best” teacher replied.
Result day was there and the piece of paper with everyone’s destiny was hanging on the board. Whole class was standing there trying to know their result but she was not able to walk to that wall. She was so scared that everyone is going to come to her and tell her that they are sorry for her, she didn’t achieve the needed figure of 35 again. Then someone came to her and she heard a word “Congrats!!!” She was not able to believe what she heard. She rushed to the board. Pass…Pass…Science too pass, 42!!! that was too much for her, Maths!!! 36!!! She won that 1. Her eyes were filled with tears, but this time, tears of happiness. Finally she was passed.
In the evening, she was sitting on the beach. Every time when a wave hit her, she could feel sand slipping away from her feet. It was like every time, waves were taking away some land from her feet but she was the winner today. She had achieved a milestone of her life that no one could take from her. There was a young couple on the beach playing with the sand. She was watching her enjoying on the beach, smiling. Even after the age difference, she was able to feel that true feeling of achieving what you love the most. The sun was going down and she was there, thinking about the new morning. Suddenly the couple reached her and asked “Grandma, Can you please click a picture ” “Sure my child” she replied with a smile on her wrinkled face, taking camera from them. “You look really happy granny, anything special?” “Yes my child, I am going to attend my new class”. Both of them were staring her with total disbelief…
This one is amazing, you are definitely overthinking retrospectively 🙂
