Humanity has grown from stone age to an era where we all are dominating over the planet. We live connected but still have many differences. While we keep fighting for major issues, some minor issues go unnoticed. Below are a few random thoughts our world should get rid of for a healthy and equal living for all.
1. Mothers should be there for their children all the time
No doubt, motherhood is a celebration and children are the gifts of this celebration. A child requires his/her mother for a healthy growth. But we often casually ignore the health of the mother. A mother’s body becomes very fragile after childbirth but because of the high demand of attention from the kid, the mother gets very limited or negligible attention. Postpartum depression is real, extremely dangerous and often ignored. After childbirth, apart from breastfeeding, there is nothing a father can’t do. That’s why any father can easily take 50% responsibility of their children. There are many single fathers who are doing 100% efficiently to prove it. Yes, the experience of childbirth is heavenly, but it does take a toll on the mother’s mental and physical health. She totally deserves some peaceful breaks.
2. Marriage and a job with a good salary is required for being settled
First of all, being “settled” is a myth. The only way to truly settle is to give up all the worldly things (and probably go to the Himalayas for meditation). If not so, then you just can’t settle down when there is a chance to grow further. The real-life equivalent of settling down is being at peace. Every individual has a different definition of this “peace”. You can find it in people, situations, places, professions or money (not really). There is no guarantee of it either. You can achieve it in your childhood or it may never happen to you. Bounding each and every individual with a fixed definition of some fictional “settling down” can hinder their progress of finding the real peace. Marriage will happen when it’s destined. If a job gives you high-level mental satisfaction and low amount of money, it’s way better than the alternate version, anytime. Don’t follow and don’t force the idea of settling down.
3. We can have strong opinions about other’s personal life
My centre of topic here is the LGBTQ community. They are hated all over the globe, shunned by most of the religious societies. Some of us may find them disgusting, unnatural, sick or fake but the point is, how does that even matter? Why are we so interested in random people’s personal spaces. If a woman wants to be a man or vice versa, or if a human loves another human which turns out to be of the same gender as him/her, that’s their own damn business. Who are we to challenge the nature? This very same nature made us all, including the LGBTQs. To be frank, how is this even on our priority list. The environment is turning toxic (thanks to the pollution) day by day, world peace is at risk, poverty is still a brutal reality and so is rape and human trafficking. There are so many real issues, why are we worrying about who wants to be who or who loves who. One thing is for sure, there will never be a law which will make homosexuality mandatory for all, so there is no reason to be scared of them. Live and let live.
4. Government is not doing enough
Tackling traffic, pollution, price rise, crime etc, we have this habit of blaming the government for all the wrong, happening around us. No matter where you live on the planet, it’s the same everywhere. Interestingly, whenever the same government takes some strict action or makes a strict rule to curb such problem, we start finding loopholes or alternate ways to avoid it, just to make sure there is no inconvenience. All these problems are created by the masses, we are still making them worse and we are expecting the government will cast a magic spell which will solve everything, and no one has to move their hands. Let’s hope at least some out of all will understand how stupid this thinking is and start taking the required steps for a better tomorrow.
